"It was really tough when those photographs came out because I'm a private person and for that to happen is so mean and it sucked."
The exotic looks come from her distant, Native American roots and a mom who is an exotic blend of Filipino, Spanish and Chinese, and in no small part explain the appeal of an American singing sensation who wowed the world in Disney's daft High School Musical trilogy. Concurrent with this a solo singing career has spawned a string of hit pop albums and plenty of dough to sink into her love of extreme sports.
And while she doesn't say much in interviews – probably because she's terrified they're about to ask her about some nude photos which surfaced a few years back – she did once tell chinny chubster Jay Leno that her parents washed her mouth out with soap when she was four. She also revealed that she once auditioned for the role of the sexy Esmeralda in The Hunchback Of Notre Dame... only to land the role of Quasimodo.
